Testing For Accessibility: Don't Be A Showstopper

We all test our software, right? However, a whole category of tests is usually omitted. Did you know you can test your application or website for accessibility issues yourself and even automate some of that in your unit tests? Usually, a few simple manual tests and automated testing can prevent lots of accessibility related issues even before shipping your software.

In this talk you will learn:

  • What accessibility is and why it is important and sometimes even required to build accessible software
  • Which accessibility guidelines there are for various platforms (web, mobile, etc)
  • How you can test if your software is accessible
  • Common accessibility pitfalls
  • When to consult an accessibility expert
